Before Arrival
Medical Insurance
All participants in the SGBS program must have medical insurance prior to arrival. Medical insurance is the individual responsibility of each student.
Travel Arrangements
Remember, when you are making your flight arrangements, that Victoria is located on Vancouver Island, west of the city of Vancouver, Canada and north of Seattle, USA. Therefore, make sure your travel agent knows that your final destination is Victoria and not Vancouver. Students who arrive in Vancouver will have to find their own transportation to Vancouver Island and the university.
English Requirements
SGBS students are recommended to have at least an intermediate level of English which is the equivalent of IELTS 5.0 or TOEFL 45. We do not require a language certificate, but if you are not sure of your English level please contact us for more information.
